Humboldt, IA – The project involving the sally port addition for the Humboldt Law Enforcement Center was nixed today by the Public Safety Commission.
The bids for the sally port were received Monday morning at the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors session with the low bid from Sande Construction in Humboldt at $ 659,197 and the other bid from Jensen Construction in Fort Dodge at $892,300.
The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors had voted on Monday to table the project due to a higher than expected cost. With the high cost involved, the public safety commission agreed to do away with the project after an agreement from both Humboldt Police Chief Joel Sanders and Humboldt County Sheriff Dean Kruger.
The scope of services that the commission had signed with ISG totaled $46,900.
