NWS gives outlook for rest of week

(KHBT) – Iowans are waking up to scattered showers and storms this morning.

The National Weather Service says are expected to continue through this afternoon and taper off by this evening statewide with periods of locally heavy rain and lightning being the main threats today.

Thursday is forecast to be mainly dry, with the next chance for showers and storms arriving in the evening in the northwest portion of the state, before spreading east throughout Friday.

A few strong storms are possible Friday, particularly in the afternoon to evening throughout the state.
