Renwick, IA – The Humboldt County Emergency Management Agency will be conducting an Anhydrous Ammonia accident tabletop exercise at the Renwick Community Center on August 24.
Area responders have been invited to attend this scenario-based tabletop exercise to better understand the resources that are available and how they can support each other and the community during an emergency. The exercise will consist of two scenarios. The first scenario will focus on the activities during the initial response to the incident and the second scenario involves crews working through the recovery phase of an incident.
Humboldt County EMA Coordinator Kyle Bissell says the best time to prepare for an incident is before an incident occurs.
Bissell says the exercise has three objectives.
Organizations that have been invited to the training include the Renwick Fire and Rescue, Renwick Ambulance, Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, Humboldt County EMS, Humboldt County Public Health, Humboldt County Memorial Hospital, Humboldt County Secondary Roads, Region 5 Haz-Mat (Fort Dodge Fire Department), Iowa DNR, and the United States EPA Region 7
The exercise is expected to last two hours with program starting at 6:00 p.m.
