Humboldt, IA – The Humboldt Special Olympics softball team is gearing up for their state competition as they are set to play in a community scrimmage on Saturday at Humboldt High School. The program’s head coach Ashley Mohr, says it will be a day of practice for her Special Olympic athletes and will also be a day to recognize the team.
Mohr says several prominent members of the community will be participating in the scrimmage Saturday.
The scrimmage begins at 4 p.m. and runs until 6 p.m. The area regional competition for softball is June 28 in Grimes. The state competition is slated for August 2, also in Grimes.
