Humboldt, IA – The National Weather Service says an Extreme Heat Warning will go into effect today from noon until 8 p.m.
Dangerously hot conditions are forecast for this afternoon through evening, with Heat Index values of 110 to 115 degrees expected. Heat related illnesses can increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. The agency says to take precautions by drinking plenty of fluids, staying in an air-conditioned room, staying out of the sun, and checking on relatives and neighbors.
