Humboldt girls’ soccer blanked 5-0 by Marshalltown

Marshalltown, IA – The Humboldt Wildcats girls’ soccer team suffered their first loss of the season Friday in a 5-0 non-conference road match against the Marshalltown Bobcats.

The Bobcats were led by Keira Halsted with two goals on two shots on goal. Lilyia Christen and Claire Bonzer each added a goal in the winning effort. Marshalltown goalkeeper was a perfect 16/16 on save opportunities in the shutout victory. Humboldt’s Laina Dettmann stopped five of 10 shots in net.

With the loss, the Wildcats are 3-1-2 and next visit Charles City on Monday as part of a girls’ and boys’ soccer doublheader. The girls’ match will kickoff at 5 p.m. with the boys’ match at 7 p.m.
