Women’s Handcrafts of the 1800’s 3rd Program – Needle Work

Join us for the 3rd program in this years program series all about women’s handcrafts of the early days, Saturday July 9th from 10am – 12pm.  Guest speaker Janice Olson will take guests through the history of needle work while learning the skills to create your own masterpieces.  Register Online at www.humboldtcohm.org under the “Events” or stop by the Museum during regular business hours in person.  Registration Fee is $5.00 for adults over 18 and children 9-18 are free.

Humboldt Rotary Club’s 21st Annual Fly-In Drive-In Breakfast

Humboldt Rotary Club invites you to their 21st Annual Fly-In Drive-In Breakfast this Sunday Aug. 7th from 7:00 to noon at the Humboldt Municipal Airport.  Breakfast will be pancakes, eggs, sausage and drink for $8, children 12 and under only $6.  See the airplanes up close and take a ride for just $25 per person.  Live Music form 9-11am with The Bone Rangers.  The Humboldt Rotary Club 21st  Annual Fly-In Drive-In Breakfast at the Humboldt airport with proceeds to Wildcat Wonderland

66th Annual Knights of Columbus Mulligan Stew

Knights of Columbus are holding their 66th Annual Mulligan Stew Dinner Wed. August 17th from 5-7pm or until the stew is gone at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Joe, IA.  The dinner is a dine-in or (drive thru for Stew only), pie and ice cream will be served for dessert.  The price is $10 for 2 pints of stew.  There will be a beer garden and Free games for kids.

Gilmore City Fun Days

 It is the annual Gilmore City Fun Days Aug. 26-28th. Friday night features Pocahontas County Cattleman’s and Burrito Mexpress Food Trucks, Fire & Ambulance Beer Tent (CASH ONLY), Kids Foam Machine, ON Stage: The Shimon Family Band starting at 7pm..   On Saturday come on over for City wide garage sales starting at 8am, 5K Run/Walk registration at 8am, Library Story walk at Gazebo 9am and the Parade starting at 11am. Then there will be lunch at the Fire station, Magic Show on the stage, Bags tournament, Kids Water barrel fight, Bounce House, 1881 Café will have Saturday Meal 5-8pm, and Eli Alger Band taking the stage at 8pm. Sunday there will be the Firemen’s Pancake Breakfast from 8am to 12pm. Make sure to catch the Ecumenical church service at 10:30 at the Gazebo. All this going on this weekend Aug. 26th – 28th at the Gilmore City Fun Days.

5K Run /Walk & Relay For Life Event

Register now for the 5K run or walk Relay for Life event to take place on August 27th at Taft Park. Call Tina Coleman at 515-341-3564 to register for only $30 which includes a free t-shirt. You can also get a team together for the Kick ball tournament and registration for that is only $50 per team by contacting Jami Jo at 402-875-3487. The day’s events will be registration is a 2pm with the race starting at 3pm followed by Kick ball tournament at 4 pm with kid’s games, bouncy houses and face painting and the Relay for Life Supper begins at 5pm. With Survivor recognition at 5:30pm.

Childrens Cancer Awareness Night Football Game
Sep 16 @ 4:45 pm – 9:30 pm

Friday, September 16 the Humboldt High School will be sponsoring a “Childhood Cancer Awareness Night” as we host Boone in football.  The 9th grade game kicks off at 4:45 PM and the Varsity game starts at 7:30 PM,   All proceeds will be donated to  the Stead Family Children’s Hospital in Iowa City.  Some of the opportunities to donate are:

1) $1.00 Raffle Ticket sales – 5 participants will be drawn to try a field goal kick at half time of the Varsity game.  Prizes will be available to choose from if the kick is successful.

2) Silent Auction will be held the night of the game for a quilt.

3) Pass the donation bucket at end of the 3rd quarter of the varsity game on Sept. 16th

4) T-shirt order form are available at:
