PocaHAUNTus will be Oct. 20^th, 21^st, 27^th & 28^th at the Fire Station, 300 NW 7^th St., in Pocahantas.  The Haunted House will open from 6-7pm with lights on, and 7-10pm with lights off.  Admission is $10 per person or $8 with a canned food item for the local food pantry.  Proceeds support both the Pocahontas Chamber & Pocahontas Fire Dept.

St. Mary’s Fall Festival, Broasted Chicken Dinner at the St. Mary’s Church on Sunday October 29^th,  Drive Thru will be 10:30am – 12:30pm and  for Inside Seating 11:00 – 1:00pm.  Dinner tickets are available at Humboldt Engraving and the Parish Office, Adults-$12.50, Children 4-8yrs-$5, 3 and under are free.  The Dinner is:  Broasted Chicken, Mashed Potatoes/gravy, Corn, Coleslaw/Applesauce, Dinner Roll and Homemade Pie or Bar.  Tickets must be purchased in advance.

Mobile Food Bank Drive Thru at the Humboldt County Fairgrounds will be Wednesday November 8^th, 2023, from 4:30 -6:00pm or until food is gone.  Please tell your neighbors, everyone is welcome.

Humboldt Sno-Skimmers are having their membership supper Friday Nov. 10, at River Valley Orchards.  Social hour begins at 6pm with the meal served at 7pm.  The meal is $20/plate for adults and $10 for kids under 12.  There will be raffles and drawings for those who attend the supper.  For more information contact Shane Braby at 515-890-1945.

The 4^th Annual Larry Sorensen Memorial Blood Drive will be on Fri. Nov. 17^th from 1pm-6pm at the Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt.  You can make a reservation by calling 800-287-4903 or register online at life serve blood center.org.  We appreciate all of our past donors for your continued support and anyone wanting to make a difference in someone’s life by giving blood we say, “Just go for it!” The Family of Larry Sorensen Thanks you for your SUPPORT.

Saturday November 18^th at 3pm the Humboldt Rec. Center will be having a Turkey Shoot for 3^rd, 4^th, 5^th, 6^th, 7^th, and 8^th grade divisions, one parent or guardian must compete as a pair.  Entry Fee is 2 non-perishable food items that will be donated to the Humboldt Food Bank per pair.  Humboldt Hy-Vee and Fareway have donated turkeys & pies to award winners of each division.

The 2^nd Annual Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk will be Nov. 23^rd, at the Humboldt Rec. Center.  Registration will begin at 8am. The race starts at 9am. The entry fee is $30for adult, $15 for 10 and under, Free for under 5yr.  Race packets will be sent out by 11/20/23.  Bring your family and friends for a fun time before celebrating Thanksgiving!

Kiwanis Christmasland prepares to open for their 41^st year this Holiday season, Friday November 24^th and go through December 24^th.  They have new displays to see both inside and out.  Christmasland is Located 1 block south and ½ block east of the Humboldt County Law Enforcement Center for the hours of the Kiwanis Christmasland go to KHBT website or Facebook page.  To arrange for a group tour call Bret Davis at (515) 571-7976.  Enjoy the spirit of the season and the family tradition of the holidays at Kiwanis Christmasland in Humboldt.

Please help spread the word.  The Humboldt Community Angel Tree Tags are available and ready to be sponsored!  The tags can be picked up at Farm Bureau or Red Power in Humboldt.  Please make sure you fill in your name and contact information on the white index card and leave it when you choose a tag.  Gifts need to be returned back by December 4th UNWRAPPED, but labeled with the family/child number from the tag.
