Help Replenish the Local Food Pantry:

Humboldt County Democrats will hold a food drive to support the Humboldt County Food Pantry on Saturday, February 10, at the Fareway Meat and Grocery Store, Highway 3 West, Humboldt from  8 a.m. – 7 p.m. . Shoppers are invited to donate non-perishable items or money.

Food items most needed: peanut butter, jelly, cereal, oatmeal, syrup, pancake mix, soup, crackers.
Non-food items most needed: shampoo, body wash, deodorant, dish soap, laundry soap, paper towels, toilet paper, all purpose cleaner.

The Humboldt County Food Pantry is operated by Upper Des Moines Opportunity, Inc. (UDMO).  UDMO also welcomes cash donations which they will use to by food in bulk.  If you can’t make it to the food drive, you may make a monetary donation.  Make checks out to the Humboldt County Food Pantry. Drop off or mail your donations to UDMO Humboldt Outreach, 419 Sumner Ave, Humboldt, IA 50548.

The St. Mary’s Knights of Columbus will be holding a Lenten Fish Fry each Friday night until March 22nd from 5-7pm or until sold out.   Dine in will be in the St. Mary gym and drive-up will be available on the North side.  $13 for adults and $8 for children.

This is St. Mary’s largest fundraiser of the year, for ticket information go to the St. Mary’s Facebook page, school website, or call the school office at 515-332-2856

Mobile Food Bank Drive Thru at the Humboldt County Fairgrounds will be Wednesday March 13^th, from 4:30 -6:00pm or until food is gone.

The Lutheran Church in Thor will be having their Kumla Supper & Auction Thurs., March 14.  Meal will be from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. with Auction to follow.  Adult tickets are $15 and children (under 10) $10, Call Marion Dencklau 515-378-3231 or Lois Nerem 515-378-3144 to get tickets.

The 12^th Annual Meals from the Heartland Event in Humboldt County will be held on Friday, March 15^th for Students, and Saturday, March 16^th for the community at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Fellowship Hall.  One meal cost 29 cents, so $1.16 will feed 4 hungry people!  Donations and volunteers are needed to package meals.  Please contact Allen Goche (515)-890-9116 or Jan Goche (515)890-9117.
