Humboldt, Iowa — The Humboldt County Memorial Hospital, as many know, will be undergoing some major changes.

The first of those changes will take place next week.

The hospital will be hosting their ground-breaking ceremony, next Tuesday starting at 1:00 p.m.

Of course, the ground-breaking comes on the heels of an 18-million dollar plan that includes a new, two-story addition and updates to several departments within the hospital.

The Hospital Board announced the plans in October, with the Board of Trustees approving the USDA funding.

The loan through the USDA is on a fixed, 40-year program.

As a part of the ground-breaking, the main entrance as we know it currently, will be closed.

The new entrance will be towards the west side of the building, near the HCMH cafeteria.

For questions on the matter, you can contact the hospital at 515-332-4200.
