Humboldt, Iowa — The Humboldt School Board held a special meeting Wednesday to discuss salary increases for in-district teachers.

The Humboldt Education Association, comprised of Courtney Hjelmeland, Greg Wickett, Paul Lauger, Jeff Johnson and Brenda Capesius, were also on hand for proceedings.

Superintendent Greg Darling introduced the district’s proposal.

The proposal creates a base salary of $33,500 (with TSS) for the 2018-19 school year.

Teachers currently under staff will receive a $685 increase to their current salary.

Additionally, there would be a 1.25% raise increase for all teachers.

There was no official action taken on the matter Wednesday, however it is a situation to monitor moving forward.
