Badger, Iowa — The name of the victim involved in a fatal accident Monday night about four miles south of Humboldt has been released.
Law enforcement officials say the deceased party was identified as 42-year old Amy Seward of Fort Dodge.
Officials say it was Seward driving a Honda van when she collided head-on with a vehicle driven by 27-year old Travis Vaala, also of Fort Dodge.
Vaala was transported to Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, while Seward was pronounced dead at the scene.
The highway was completely shut down in both direction for a little more than an hour following the accident.
The accident remains in investigation.
The Iowa State Patrol, Badger Fire Department, Clare Fire Department, Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, Webster County Sheriff’s Office, Fort Dodge Police, and Trinity Regional Medical Center paramedics all assisted with the accident.
