Des Moines, Iowa — The North Union Warrior girls’ basketball team earned a second game at the Wells Fargo Arena, following the team’s 47-46 win over #2 Panorama.
The Warriors will take on #3 Cascade in the 2A semifinals, Friday.
Chloe Loftstrom led the Warriors with 14 points and 9 rebounds, while Samantha Hagedorn added 13 points on 6-11 shooting from the field.
#3 Cascade defeated #6 Dike-New Hartford 61-44 in the quarters on Tuesday.
The #8 seed Algona Bishop Garrigan girls ran into a buzz-saw in the quarterfinals, dropping to state power and #1 seed Springville, 54-36.
The Cardinals were back-to-back Class 1A state champions.
North Union’s contest versus Cascade can be heard on KHBT’s sister station, KLGA of Algona, with tip-off slated for 11:45 a.m. Friday.
