Humboldt, Iowa — The Humboldt Wildcat volleyball team finished off the Roland-Story Norse 25-15, to earn the right to play in their third straight region final.

In all, Humboldt ousted the Norse 3-1, with Roland-Story taking game three by a score of 25-22.

With the win, the Wildcats will take on #6 Osage.

Osage took care of Forest City in three straight, 25-13, 25-12, and 25-16.

Last night, Humboldt looked poised to sweep the Norse, if not for a herculean effort by Valparaiso commit Makayla Geise.

Geise willed her team to a game three win, 25-22.

Humboldt’s firepower was too much for the Norse to overcome in game four, however.

Jori Hajek led the way with 17 kills, while Kendal Clark and Mady Lange each had 12 apiece.

Deni McDaniel led the team with 32 assists, while Carlie Thompson proved steady in the back row with 28 digs.

The Wildcats faced Osage once already this season, with the Devils sweeping Humboldt, 21-15, 21-9.

Match-time is set for 7:00 p.m. on Monday at Clear Lake High School.
