Fort Dodge, IA — Taco Tico will soon have a further reach than just Fort Dodge, Iowa as a group of investors has franchised the local taco shop for locations to open up in Kentucky.
The Greer Group plans to open 30 stores in the state over the next seven years. However, unlike the failed model of the predecessor the new Taco Tico stores will adopt the made fresh daily policy of Fort Dodge which it has done since it’s opening in 1977. Owner Ben Johnson says he’s excited for the opportunity to grow the business and partner with a group that has had longstanding experience in the restaurant business.
Tico’s used to be plentiful in Kentucky before a falling out and only 2 stores remain which are located in Lexington and Louisville. The location in Fort Dodge will become the headquarters for the franchise.
