HPD Releases Fireworks Guidelines For 2019

Humboldt, IA — With 4th of July fireworks stands popping up all over town, the Humboldt Police Department has released rules for the public on when and where a citizen can light off fireworks.

All pyromaniacs can begin lighting up the skies on July 3rd from 10am until 10pm. Officially on Independence Day, fireworks can go off from 10am until 11pm. No person under the age of 18 may be prohibited to light off fireworks without adult supervision present. Lastly as for where someone can go to put on their light shows are on property they own or where they have permission from the owner. None shall be discharged within 500 feet of the Humboldt County Fairgrounds or the 4th of July Parade route.

The Humboldt Police Department reminds those in violation of these rules could be prosecuted with a misdemeanor or municipal infraction.
