Humboldt, IA — In a press release from Bank Iowa, two Humboldt seniors have been awarded the $500 Spirit of Chandy scholarships.
Bank Iowa Regional President David Boswell presented Calvin Carlson and Elizabeth Hildreth the scholarships at a ceremony on Tuesday. The scholarship is named after Bank Iowa’s Co-Founder Harry Barr’s daughter Chandy Barr Clanton who passed away in 2009. The selection process is based off of academics, character, leadership, accomplishments, and participation in school and community events. It also asked students to write an essay describing their own strengths and things they want to achieve through education and their careers.
