Injuries reported after car accident Friday morning

Humboldt, IA — Suspected injuries are reported after a car accident Friday.

At approximately 7:15 Friday morning, Bernard Miller, 86, of Dakota City, was driving southbound on at the intersection of 1st Avenue North and 5th Street North, when a vehicle driven by Daniel Oldenkamp, 42, of Algona, slid through the stop sign and collided with Miller’s truck, a 2001 Chevrolet S-10.

Oldenkamp was uninjured, but his vehicle – a 2001 Ford Taurus – was left with $3,000 in functional damage. It was able to be driven away from the scene.

Miller’s S-10 had disabling damage totaling at approximately $3,000. Miller’s car was towed from the intersection and Miller himself was transported to Humboldt County Memorial Hospital with suspected minor/non-incapacitating injuries.

This is according to a report from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, including notes from officers Susan Rutz and Tom Nielsen.
