Des Moines – New digital outreach program in Iowa available for survivors of human trafficking.

Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate launched a digital outreach campaign to inform survivors of human trafficking about resources available to them. Two videos featuring founder of Dorothy’s House Kellie Markey promoting Safe at Home will run through the end of the month. The videos can be found on Facebook and YouTube.

Safe at Home is a program administered by The Iowa Secretary of State Office. The program provides victims of sexual abuse, domestic violence, human trafficking and stalking with a substitute address on all records. This makes it harder for abusers to find those in the program.

There are approximately 600 participants in Safe at Home statewide. For more information about Safe at Home visit SafeatHome.Iowa.gov.
