Presidents Day affects local meeting schedules

Humboldt, IA – The City Council decides to move meeting a day later in honor of president’s day.

On Monday, February 3rd, the Humboldt City Council approved the scheduling on the next city Council meeting for Tuesday, Feb 18 at 5:30 pm. This is in contrast to the meeting being scheduled for a Monday as the usual standard by the Council. This change comes as a result of Monday being Presidents Day.

The City Council is not the only local government to change scheduling due to presidents day. On Monday, Feb 10, the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors motioned to cancel the meeting scheduled for Monday, Feb 17 with the Court House being closed and nothing pressing on the agenda.

The Humboldt Community School District Board of Education will still be holding their regularly scheduled monthly meeting on Monday, Feb 17. The meeting is scheduled for 5:30 pm and will take place at the Administration Office in Dakota City next to the Court House.

The Prairie Lakes Area Education Agency will have their regularly scheduled board meeting at 4 pm. However, due to weather the meeting will be held via a video conference service, Zoom.
