Dakota City requests bids on street work, sets budget amendment hearing

Dakota City, IA – May 13 marks the date for two city actions in Dakota City after discussion and motions at recent City Council meeting

On Wednesday, April 8, the City Council for Dakota City approved the date of May 13 as final day for construction contractors to submit bids for street work to be done in the city. All bids must be sealed and received by City Clerk Angelique Berry by 4 pm that day. The work that the city is looking to have completed include various streets with in the city, applying single bituminous, double seal coat or 2” asphalt overlay.

During their monthly meeting Dakota City’s City Council also approved the date and time for their budget amendment public hearing. The hearing will take place during the May 13 meeting of the City Council. At this time the city council is considering using a virtual video chat platform to allow the public to the meeting due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The next City Council for Dakota City will be on Wednesday, May 13.
