Humboldt County, IA – No injuries reported, one citation given after a potential brake failure leads to a mini-van driving into a ditch.
Chief Deputy Cory Lampe of the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Wednesday, June 3 that Hope Santilli, 24, of Bode was northbound on Iowa Avenue. While she approached a braking point she attempted to apply the brakes but they failed. The action resulted in her red Dodge Caravan going off road and into the ditch on the east, striking a field driveway and coming to a rest.
The incident resulted in disabling damages to Santilli’s Caravan that had to be towed away from the scene. There was no injury reported by Chief Deputy Cory Lampe as a result of the incident. Santilli was cited for driving while suspended.
