Humboldt, IA – No injuries reported after a trailer is backed up into a sedan Thursday morning.
Deputy Tim Fisher of the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office reports on the two car incident. The report states that Norma Pedersen, 88 of Renwick and Kevin Clabaugh, 26 of Clarion, were stopped southbound on K road near Highway 3. As a third vehicle approached from the west to turn left from the highway to K Road, Clabaugh had to back his dump truck with a trailer up to make room for the turning vehicle, not seeing the white Cadillac CTS of Pedersen behind him. Pedersen was unable to back up in time, resulting in the front end of her vehicle being struck by the trailer.
The incident resulted in minor damages to the trailer on Clabaughs dump truck that was driven away from the scene and major damages to Pedersen’s CTS that was towed. No injuries were reported by Deputy Fisher at the time of the incident.
