Wildcat softball makes it seven straight wins at Clear Lake

Clear Lake, IA – Humboldt High School Softball continues the ways of winning on the road against Clear Lake.

On Friday, July 3, Humboldt Wildcats softball took to the road for a game against the Clear Lake Lions. The Wildcats would secure a victory 6-1 after scaring five runs in the first four innings and blanking the Lions through four and a half innings. As a team the Wildcats would collect 10 hits on 29 total at bats and draw 5 walks. Only one Humboldt batter would go down via a strikeout.

Key individual stats:

  • Humboldt Right Fielder Claire Varangkouhn led the team with three stolen bases and three runs scored going 1-3 with a walk.
  • Pitcher Ellie Jacobson and Catcher Mady Lange would both bat in two runs each.
  • Third Basemen Reagan Lee would go 2-3 from the plate and walk.

Humboldt Softball is now 14-1 on the season. The next game for the Wildcats will be Tuesday, July 7 as they host Newell-Fonda (12-1). First pitch is scheduled for 7:30 pm following the JV game.
