Humboldt, IA – Humboldt boys and girls cross country enjoying success in the Iowa Fall Invitational as they open their 2020 season.
On Thursday, Aug. 27, Humboldt High School Boys and Girls Cross Country both opened their seasons. Their first meet of the season was the Iowa Falls Invitational at Maynes Grove. Both varsity teams competition was a 5K.
The girls 5K featured six total schools with Humboldt finishing as the highest placed team with 40 points. Newman Catholic finished second with 50 points and third place was the hosting IFA-AGWSR with 75 points.
For the Humboldt girls here’s how they placed individually:

The boys 5k features a total of eight schools with Humboldt finishing as the highest placed team with 26 points. Clear Lake finished second with 60 points and third place was Newman Catholic with 85 points.

The next meet for both boys and girls Humboldt cross country will be Tuesday, Sept. 1 on the road at the Briggs Wood Golf Club in Webster City. The girls start time is at 5:30 pm with the boys starting at 6 pm.
