Humboldt football suffers second straight loss of the season

Boone, IA – Humboldt High School Football drops their second straight game after the turnover bug makes and appearance.

On Friday, Sept. 25, Humboldt Wildcats football faced the Ballard Bombers at Boone High School. It was the second straight loss for Humboldt on the season, final score of 31-14.

For Humboldt the big story from this one was turnovers. In total they gave up the ball on offense five times, two fumbles lost and three interceptions thrown by Quarterback Caden Matson. Humboldt would force once turnonver, a pick-six by Senior Linebacker Gabe Gidel near the end of the first half.

As a passer Matson completed 14 of his 25 passes (56 percent) for 152 yards and one touchdown. He ran for 54 yard on 12 carries. Senior Runningback Jordan Jensen had nine carries on the evening with 33 yards.

Humboldt football is now 3-2 on the season. The next game for the Wildcats will be Friday. Oct. 2 on the road against Mason City. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 pm.
