Humboldt volleyball gets third NCC win of the 2020 season

Humboldt, IA – Humboldt High School Volleyball continuing to win as they pickup their third North Central Conference Victory of the season against Webster City.

On Thursday, Sept. 24 the Humboldt Wildcats hosted the Webster City Lynx on the volleyball hardwood. It was another win for the unbeaten Wildcats who swept their conference opponent three sets to none.

For Humboldt the first set was a 25-14 win, the second 25-16 and the third set 25-21. The first set was closely contested through the first ten points for either team before Humboldt was able to find a run. The Second set never really got close as Humboldt jumped out to a lead after surrendering the first point. The third set mirrored the second set but when Humboldt began to substitute starters Webster City took advantage of the inexperienced and cold players to get it close before Humboldt ultimately closed it out.

Humboldt was led offensively by their Senior Outside Hitter in Jori Hajek who had 13 kills on 34 attempts with seven errors. Middle Hitter Kendal Clark recored seven kills for Humboldt with four errors on 20 attempts and she led the team with 13 digs. Senior Setter Deni McDaniel recorded a double-double with 29 assists, 12 assists and also had three services aces.

Humboldt volleyball is now 23-0 on the season and 3-0 in the North Central Conference. The Wildcats will return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 29. as they face their fourth NCC match of the season. This one will be at home once again and be against the Lions of Clear Lake.
