Humboldt XC performs well in Webster City

Webster City, IA – Humboldt High school Cross Country takes to Webster City for their second meet of the season and puts on a solid show.

On Tuesday, Sept. 1, Humboldt boys and girls cross country went out to the Webster City Golf Club for the Lynx Invitational. The boys finished second as a team and the girls finished sixth.

For the Wildcat boys they were one of 14 schools to participate in the 5K. They scored 54 points which placed them in second behind North Polk (26) and right in front of the host Webster City (129). Quinton Orr got his second individual first place finish with fellow senior Eric Wittrock placing second.

For the Humboldt girls they were one of eleven participating schools in the varsity girls 5K. The Wildcats scored sixth as a team with 146 points. The top team was Roland-Story with 39 points.

The next meet for Humboldt High School Cross Country will be next Tuesday, Sept. 8 on the road at the Estherville Golf Course. The start time for both is listed as 5 pm.
