Humboldt, IA – Sheldon Park is going to once again play host to Rock ‘N’ Picnic as the annual music festival is this weekend.

The annual Labor Day Weekend music concert is a nonprofit, free will donation event. This year it will once again be held at Sheldon Park in Humboldt. One of the event orchestrators Paul Larson provides details on the weekend’s event.

Larson does confirm that both Saturday, Sept. 5, and Sunday, Sept. 6 they will have live music. Saturday will start at 7 pm and feature Brutal Republic out of Fort Dodge. Sunday’s will be the main day of events with five bands, a barbecue and bags tournament.

Larson confirms that the event and food is open and free to the public but they will have event merchandise and an auction. The featured item in this year’s event auction will be a guitar signed by every member of all the bands. There will also be event t-shirts for purchase. Other than that, the event is entirely free will donation and Larson says there is no pressure on attendees to donate.

This will be the 12 annual Rock ‘N’ Picnic and since its beginning it has been orchestrated by a group of individuals who just want to give back to the community they love. Larson says that the group is entirely local and is individuals who appreciate Humboldt and the surrounding communities. Most of them have grown up here and built their lives in this community. He also says that the event is family friendly and that individuals are welcome to camp out at the park as well.

The 12 Annual Rock ‘N’ Picnic will be going on this Saturday and Sunday in Sheldon Park here in Humboldt. There will be plenty of room for social distancing and masks are encouraged but not required.
