Hy-Vee brings back hour for “high risk” shoppers

Humboldt, IA – The local grocery store is going back to offering reserved shopping hours for those consider high risk in response to the recent increase in COVID-19 cases.

Announced via a media release Hy-Vee has announced they will reinstate the reserved shopping for their higher risk customers. These reserved hours will be from offered at all Hy-Vee locations, including Humboldt and Algona.

The reserved hour is from 7 am to 8 am on Monday through Friday. The time is dedicated to those who are over the age of 60, expecting mothers or anyone with an underlying health condition that makes them more susceptible to serious illness.

The release says that as COVID-19 continues to rise in the areas they serve it’s necessary to bring back this special hour to best serve customers who are at higher risk of serious illness. Hy-Vee remains committed to their customers during these challenging time sand will take all measures necessary to keep them and their employees safe.

Shoppers who are not considered “high risk” are asked to please respect this time and do their shopping before or after the 7 am to 8 am hour Monday through Friday.
