Humboldt, IA – A memorial blood drive in honor of Larry Sorensen will be held Friday afternoon.
Larry Sorensen passed away November 15th, 2019 at the age of 63. The blood drive in his name will be held from 1:30 to 6:30 PM at the Fellowship Hall at Zion Lutheran Church in Humboldt.
Individuals planning on attending are asked to make an appointment first through Lifeserve Blood Center by calling 800-287-4903 or texting “LIFESERVE” TO 999-777. Masks are also required to donate blood; one will be provided if needed.
Each donor will receive a health screening at their donation which finds out their blood type. The blood will also be tested for COVID-19 antibodies, which helps the state health department understand coronavirus and possibly identify more convalescent plasma donors.
