City of Humboldt to discuss putting a parcel on the market

Humboldt, IA – The City of Humboldt is holding a public hearing to discuss the sale of city owned land.

During the meeting of the Humboldt City Council on Monday, Feb. 1, they set the date for the public hearing to be Feb. 16. The purpose will be for city officials and the general public to discuss the sale of land.

City Administrator Travis Goedken says the parcel of land is located south of 14th Avenue South and east of 10th Street Southwest. The land used to be farmed by Mike Coleman who decided to renew his lease.

The purpose of this public hearing is just to discuss putting the land on the market for sale with the public. If anyone wants to voice their opinion of the sale they can come speak during the hearing.

The public hearing is set to occur during the regularly scheduled council meeting on Feb. 16 that starts at 5:30 pm. Following the discussion council will decide if they wish to start the sales process or not.
