LIHEAP application period closes April 30

Humboldt, IA – A financial assistance program is offering to help low income resident better afford their heating bill.

Announced via a release the Upper Des Moines Opportunity, Inc. is offering the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). The program is established to help qualifying low-income Iowa homeowners and renters pay for a portion of their primary heating cost for the winter season.

The application period is open and will be running until April 30. Applicants will need to show proof of income for all household members ages 19 and older. Social Security Numbers for all members of the house hold as well as the most recent heating and electric bill is needed.
