Humboldt, IA – The Humboldt County Food Pantry is well stocked thanks to the generosity of those involved with an annual food drive.

On Wednesday, February 10, Humboldt County Memorial Hospital and Humboldt County Public Health held their Warm the Heart Food Drive. Director of Community Development Mardi Ratzlaff says the food drive was a success.

There was no official count taken during this year’s food drive according to Ratzlaff. Normally an ambulance is used for the food drive to collect and tally the donations. This year the extreme cold prevented the vehicle from being used.

Ratzlaff says the shelves at the food pantry were completely stocked and it was even hard to move inside. Because of the staff at HCMH, Public Health, the local community and businesses the Humboldt County Food Pantry will be able to serve those in need.

Ratzlaff says they would like to thank everyone who helped make this year’s Warm the Heart Food Drive a success.
