Humboldt boys’ golf place third in Parkersburg

Parkersburg, IA – Humboldt High School boys’ golf gets a third place team and individual finish during a Monday afternoon tournament.

On Monday, April 26, the Wildcats traveled to the Legend Trail Golf Club in Parkersburg to participate in a six team tournament. The course par is 35 with a team par of 140 – top four per team making up the team’s score.

Humboldt finished third as a team by shooting 30 over. First place was the hosts, Aplington-Parkersburg, with a team score of 19 over. Second place was Waverly-Shell Rock at 24 over.

Waverly-Shell Rock’s Hogan Hansen finished as the top individual at one over. Aplington-Parkersburg’s Will Steege placed second at three over. Third place was tied between AP’s Kaden Campbell, Grundy Center’s Dexter Whitehill and Humboldt’s Gabe Gidel who scored five over.

Here is how the rest of the Humboldt golfer’s played:

  • Ty Gargano – seven over.
  • Carson Sleiter – eight over.
  • Carson Arndt – 10 over.
  • Jayden Gargano -14 over.
  • Jake Lenning – 19 over.

The next meet for the Humboldt boys’ golf team will be on Tuesday, April 27, at the Humboldt Country Club against Emmetsburg. The meet is scheduled to begin at 4:30 pm.
