Humboldt boys’ golf places second in conference triangular

Algona, IA – Humboldt High School boys’ golf takes a second place finish in a triangular with two of their North Central Conference rivals.

On Friday, April 23, the Wildcats traveled to the Algona Country Club to meet up with Clear Lake and the hosts Algona. On a par 36 course (144 team best four), Humboldt shot 39 over to finish second. Clear Lake won the meet by shooting 25 over and Algona was third shooting 52 over.

The top golfer was Clear Lake’s Easton DeVries at three over with Andrew Crane Gavin Anderson and Humboldt’s Gabe Gidel tied for second at six over.

Here’s how the rest of Humboldt’s golfers did:

  • Carson Sleiter – nine over
  • Ty Gargano – 10 over
  • Jake Lenning – 14 over
  • Jayden Gargano – 16 over
  • Corey Dettmann – 20 over.

Humboldt boys’ golf will next compete in a tournament on Monday, April 26, at the Legend Trail Golf Club in Parkersburg. It is scheduled to begin at 3:30 pm.
