Humboldt, IA – The City of Humboldt’s compost pile is now open again for the community to drop off their yard waste.

As previously reported the city had been required to move its compost pile due to the previous location being purchased by Precision Tank and Equipment. The city has announced that the new location at the corner of 16th Avenue North and Kentucky Avenue is now open.

City officials ask that those dropping off yard waste do so on the east side of the rock turnaround. There is a driveway coming off Kentucky Ave that was built with the help of the Humboldt County Secondary Roads Department and a rock drive to help avoid mud.

The city thanks the community for their patience while they worked to get the new site open.
