Carlson leads Humboldt girls’ golf to a second place tournament finish

Clarion, IA – On Saturday, May 1, Humboldt High School girls’ golf got a second place finish in the 2021 Cowgirl Tournament.

For their first tournament of the season Humboldt traveled to the Clarmond Country Club in Clarion. There they faced off against five other teams. The tournament was 18 hole – four person best shot on a par 70 course.

The Wildcats finished second as a team by scoring 136 above par. First place Clear Lake scored 90 above and third place Garner-Hayfeild/Ventura scored 158 above.

Humboldt’s Nora Carlson was the individual winner from the meet at 10 above par. Second place was Clear Lake’s Rebecca DeLong at 12 above.

The rest of Humboldt golfers’ individual scores:

  • Aries Packard – 37 over.
  • Ashlee Wergeland – 44 over.
  • Tori Gargano – 45 over.
  • Adelynne Lawman – 45 over.
  • Noelle Hamand – 47 over.

The next meet for Humboldt girls’ golf will be on Tuesday, May 4, at the Webster City Country Club in Webster City. It will be an all North Central Conference triangular with the hosting Webster City High School Lynx and St. Edmond Gaels scheduled to begin at 4:30 pm.
