Humboldt, IA – The City of Humboldt is putting aside funds for this year’s 4th of July fireworks display.

During a recent meeting of the city council they were present with action item to put aside funds for the city’s annual display. City Administrator Travis Goedken says after M&M Redemption Center moved they no longer have the donation bin for fireworks.

Prior to relocating, the city received roughly $2,000 in donations for the display. In 2020 the display cost about $11,000 and the city administrator recommended council approve $12,000 from the Hotel/Motel revenues to purchase this year’s display.

This was given unanimous approval.
