Dakota City, IA – The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors approve a compaction damage compensation for soil recovery in 2021 and 2022.

The board was presented this item during the May 17 meeting. Drainage Clerk Kim Lonning says it is in relation to the project recently completed at Drainage District 7 Sub 2.

The report comes from the projects Engineer, Colin Klingbeil from Bolton and Menk, Inc. It is a standard procedure for the completion of a project when crop yield might be affected as a result of the work.

Lonning says that payments will be made in 2021 and 2022. The first two-thirds of the payment will be made in the first year with the remaining third in the second. Two farmers were affected with one receiving a compensation of $1,625.16 and the other receiving $86.58. The funds will come from the district.

The board approved the compaction damage comp sensation for soil recovery unanimously.
