Dakota City, IA – A five person committee has been appointed to approve the redistricting of Humboldt County.

During the meeting of the Board of Supervisors on May 10, they approved the members to make up the Temporary County Redistricting Commission. Following the 2020 census the county is going to go through a redistrict process. These districts are based on population and linked to the county’s elected supervisors.

The commission will include five total members. Those members are Peggy Rice, Janell Ayres, T.C. Loving, Carl Mattes and Trish Erickson. Pathfinders Strategic Partners, formerly known as the Mid-Iowa Development Association (MIDAS), will provide this commission options for redistricting to choose the best from the county.

The commission was approved unanimously by the board.
