Dakota City, IA – The Humboldt County Board of Supervisor approve a budget amendment for the secondary roads department.

During a meeting of the Board on June 1, they met with Engineer Ben Loots to hold a public hearing for an amendment to the 2020-2021 budget. The meeting had to be held on June 1 due to publishing requirement for the hearing and deadlines set by the state.

As previously reported, this is amendment is to accommodate for work that began ahead of anticipated schedule. Blacktop Service Company began doing contracted work the week of May 10. Loots had planned for them to arrive in October, with the funds reflected in next fiscal year’s budget.

The board approved $200,000 be moved from the secondary road’s reserves account to the “roads” funds for asphalt patching and filling.
