Spirit Lake, IA – Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will be holding eleven meetings in Northwest Iowa to address farmland leasing.

From August 3-17 Extension and Outreach will be visiting counties all across the northwest corner of the state to address a few topics on farmland leasing. The agendas will cover topics like results of recent Iowa cash rent and land value surveys, improving tenant and landowner communication and understating flexible cash farm lease arrangements.

In the local area, Palo Alto and Pocahontas Counties will have a joint meeting on August 17. The meeting will start at 9 am and be held at the Mallard Community Center. Workshops are estimated to last about two and a half hours with a 100-page leasing arrangements book provided.

Registration will be $20 a person and $30 a couple. Pre-registration must occur at least two days before the meeting and there will be a $5 fee for late registration.

Pre-register by calling the office of the hosting county. More information on the farmland leasing meetings can be found at extension.iastate.edu/agdm.
