Humboldt baseball cruises past Southeast Valley

Humboldt, IA – On Thursday, June 3, Humboldt baseball beat Southeast Valley 16-0 at home in three-and-a-half-innings.

Humboldt started the game getting two runs in the bottom of the first. The majority of the damage was done in the second when the Wildcats crossed the plate 12 times. Two more in the bottom of the their finished the scoring.

Hayden Holm was the winning pitcher. He went four innings, giving up three hits and one walk. He struck out three.

Jack Miller started the game for Southeast Valley and picked up the loss. He went one-and-two-thirds innings, giving up seven hits, 14 total runs (only two reported as earned) and six walks. He struck out four.

Colby Clarken led Humboldt by going 2-3 in his at bats with two doubles and three RBIs. Caden Matson was also 2-3 with a triple and two RBIs.

Humboldt’s record is now 6-1 this season.

Their next game is on Friday, June 4, on the road against North Central Conference opponent Clear Lake. First pitch is scheduled for 7:30 pm, following a JV game.
