Humboldt baseball drops game to Spirit Lake

Humboldt, IA – On Thursday, June 17, Humboldt baseball lost to Spirit Lake 8-5 at home.

Spirit Lake started the scoring early in the top of the first inning. One run scored for the visitors. They scored another in the top of the third to take a 2-0 lead.

Humboldt responded by taking the lead in the bottom of the third inning. Three runs crossed the plate to give them the 3-2 lead.

Quickly Spirit Lake responded. They tied the game with one in the top of the fourth.

After a scoreless fifth inning, Spirit Lake got four runs in the top of the sixth. Ultimately this was a lead they never gave up though Humboldt got two back in the bottom of the sixth.

To complete the scoring, Spirit Lake added one more run in the top of the seventh.
