Humboldt County, IA – The Iowa Department of Transportation will set up a detour on Humboldt County’s secondary roads in mid-July.

During the meeting of the county’s board of supervisors on Monday, June 21, they were presented with an agreement with the I-DOT. The agreement approved the state to set up a detour for Highway 17.

The reason for the detour is the maintenance of rail road crossings on the state’s highway. The detour will commence at the junction of Hwy 17 and Hwy 3. It will head west on Hwy 3 before turning north on P66. From there it will turn east on C26 to loop back onto Hwy 17.

The supervisors approved the agreement with the I-DOT unanimously. The detour is scheduled to begin July 12 and last about two weeks to July 26.
