Dakota City, IA – Upper Des Moines Opportunity, Inc. is providing an update of their efforts in Humboldt County during their semi-annual report.
During the meeting of the Board of Supervisors on May 24, they heard from UDMO Executive Director Jamey Whitney. He provided them a report of data gathered for the organizations from October 2020 through March 2021 in Humboldt County.
According to the report, the UDMO assisted 1,038 individuals in 438 Humboldt County households during that six month period. This is through programs such as emergency/energy services, food programs and special projects.
Whitney says donations for Humboldt County continue to remain strong, especially for a rural county. In the previous fiscal year the UDMO received $12,905.29 in donations with the current year seeing $11,304.42.The executive director says that anything that comes in or is provided by Humboldt County stays in Humboldt County.
Whitney finishes the report by thanking the county for their support and saying they look forward to continuing the partnership to help meet the ends of the low-income and at-risk populations.
