Humboldt, IA – The new office for the Upper Des Moines Opportunity, Inc. and Humboldt County Food Pantry is targeting a late summer opening.

As previously reported, the UDMO and Humboldt County Ministerial Association has acquired a new location for the food pantry. The new location is in Humboldt’s downtown area at 419 Sumner Avenue.

Director of the Humboldt County Development Association Alissa O’Connor says the completion date of the food pantry is late July “at this point.” There is still some roof repairs needing to be done as well as interior work. They are also finalizing the storage area.

The UDMO handles the day-to-day operations of the food pantry. They continue to operate the pantry out of the secondary roads shop on Highway 3 one day a week. Once the new location is open they hope to have it open five days a week.

UDMO Services will not stop during the move. They will continue to provide families with assistance when they are needed.
