Joe Sheldon Park to host veterans appreciation concert

Humboldt, IA – An annual music concert recognizing military veterans is returning to Lower Joe Sheldon Park.

On Saturday, August 7, the 4th Annual Veterans Appreciation Non-Profit Event concert will be going on in Humboldt.  In special memory of Kenny Ray Smith, Specialist E5, U.S Army, the night will feature fun for community members of all ages.

There will be the VFW Dakota City Beer Garden and food provided by 716 Main and Dean’s Food truck. There will be a bouncy house and temporary tattoos by Voltage Ink.

There will be live music going on all day. The opening band will be Special Forces, a tribute to 38 Special. The main act is national recording artist Kristen Kelly.

The 4th Annual Veterans Appreciation Non-Profit concert is Saturday, August 7. Gates will open at 4:30 pm and the Military Ceremony will be at 6.

Tickets are $10 for non-veterans against 15 and older. Veterans get in free with proof of service.
