Public Health to offer at home COVID tests

Humboldt, IA – Humboldt County Public Health is going to be a pickup location for the new take home COVID-19 test.

The Iowa Department of Public Health has announced that all Test Iowa locations across the state will be closed by July 16. First opened in April of 2020 the locations have processed over 540,000 PCR COVID-19 tests.

With the closure of the Test Iowa sites, the IDPH will begin offering saliva tests that will be available for pickup and delivery. The kit will include step-by-step instructions on how to activate and utilize the test.

Humboldt County Public Health’s office at Humboldt County Memorial Hospital will be a pick up site for these at home tests according to Director Joleen Sernett. Home bound residents will have the option to request a kit be sent to their homes.
